The Grape Festival of Cupramontana, which takes place on the first Sunday of October and the Thursday, Friday and Saturday preceding, is among the first in Italy: the first edition dates back to 1928. It is the festival for the harvest and fertility of the land. All the traditional elements of rural culture are proposed: traditional dances, including the "saltarello", the songs of grape harvest accompained with piano accordion and accordions. The Palio of Verdicchio, a competition of treading the grape, takes place among representatives from the municipalities of the production area. Meanwhile, in the parade of floats, districts and hamlets of the area display their own cart where the themes of wine tradition are presented with political, social or historical current events. In the stands you can taste typical products and local wine.
