The Fair of Santa Maria of Moie takes place on the 9th September. It is among the oldest in the Marche, as documented by a series of transcripts of Privilege issued by Pope Sixtus V on 13 July 1588. The above-mentioned fair, celebrating the patron saint, Our Lady of Mercy, whose feast day is celebrated on the 8th September, used to take place along the road called Clementina, the two sides of which were lined with stalls and local eatery stands. Currently it fills the central streets of the town with stalls and colours: food stalls of local specialties, craft stands, gifts and clothing, with music in the streets but also in restaurants and taverns of the village. |
