Since 1972, the feast of the Patron Saint of San Severino solemnizes recalling aspects of the past. The historic parade accompanies the reliquary of the patron to the old castle for the offering of candles. The roots go deep into the history of the country. In the Middle Ages the local lords were celebrating the Patron solemnly, with parades and sacred offerings. Today the Palio of the Castles choose to recall precisely that time, the 15th century, which saw the town of San Severino ruled by Onofrio Smeducci.
